Blogging is Learning!

At first,I was asking myself, "Is it really ok to teach students with the help of a blog?" Yes, it requires time, creativity and you can share the work you have done in the classroom with your students, but the actual process of teaching, the traditional one, remains the same. This thought was bothering me, it was unclear how a blog can teach, till the day I got involved in the I-EARN project.

For instant, it amazed me, I mean the way in which the tasks and their solutions were made accessible to so many persons from entire country (Moldova). Then I saw that blogging involves many more aspects than I thought it could. After watching this lovely video, my doubts were completely erased.
Blogging breathes some fresh air in the students' attitude towards their school work. Exploring a new topic I gave students the task to write or to tell about their usual day, without giving any hints ,like use some specific things or in a special way, the one and only request was to make it creative, and can you guess what happened? They all presented their works in an electronic way, with videos and PPT presentations, I was astonished and extremely happy. they presented their works just the next lesson after I gave them the task and did it with such pleasure and enthusiasm that I never saw before.
Kids nowadays just can't do without modern technology, they tend to express themselves in a way in which they feel more comfortable, and for the good or for the worst, computers truly fulfill all their needs. So our task as teachers is to keep up to date and move in the same direction as our students, and only by doing that we can expect a high level of motivation and interest from them.
Blogging is a really helpful thing, that stimulates and increase kids' interest, and also a great tool for giving and receiving feedback from all around the world.
